Symeta is pioneering a data-driven revolution in the entrepreneurial ecosystem, unleashing founding team potential. We believe that understanding the dynamics of founding teams is the key to unlocking startup success. That’s why we’re creating a platform that goes beyond traditional assessments to provide actionable insights into team performance.
Our journey began while consulting for a leading VC firm, where we witnessed firsthand the challenges investors face in evaluating founding teams. As entrepreneurs ourselves, we understood the need for a better approach and as we worked with more investors…we found so did they. With deep roots in organizational psychology and a passion for leveraging technology, we’ve developed a solution that quantifies the human element of startups.
The journey has been a long one, but worth it. We’ve learned so much along the way, and we’re constantly iterating and improving our products based on the latest scientific research and the evolving needs of our customers (you). The cool thing is that our company was built using the very tools we’ve designed! Here’s how it’s turned out:

The idea for Blackhawke Behavior Science (research backed psychometric assessments for human capital due diligence) was born and registered as an LLC in Washington, DC..
We begin multistudy research to identify the key behaviors and traits of successful entrepreneurs.
After thousands of datapoints, our insights form the 12 PillarsTM of Entrepreneurship Performance.
Our first product, the Entrepreneurship Value Profile (EVP), is developed and enters market probing. Through extensive testing and refinement, we validated the power of data-driven insights to predict startup success.
The EVP gained significant traction with beta-testing partners and customers. We won a Kauffman-sponsored award from the Association for Psychological Science for the foundational research for the EVP. We also forged strategic partnerships, expanded our team, and began designing additional products.
We create a new and improved foundational psychometric assessment — SENSE — designed and built to leverage artificial intelligence and work towards our new future of digital dashboards.
With a focus towards scaling and development of a new product ecosystem, we built a council of 10 expert advisors.
Secured our first round of Friends and family investment.
Symeta registered as a C-CORP in Delaware to begin transition from consulting to a SaaS platform.

Pronounced Sim • EH • tuh, Symeta is a combination of the words system and meta which encapsulate our approach to predicting and improving startup performance. Startups are made of many moving pieces working together as part of an interconnected network and process (system) and need to have an explicit awareness of itself (meta).
Our logo, “The Shadow” symbolizes the multifaceted and complex nature of entrepreneurship. For the nerds amongst us, the shadow is technically a 2D representation of a tesseract. The inspiration comes from Edwin A. Abbott’s novella, Flatland, and Carl Sagan’s description of the Cosmos.
